Who we are
Kademy is an online learning platform for practical AI education, operated from Nigeria and reachable at kedionwe@gmail.com. We are the data controller for the information described here.
What we collect
Only what the platform needs in order to work:
- Your account. First and last name, email address, and either a password (stored only as a cryptographic hash, never in a form we can read) or, if you use Google sign-in, the Google account identifier and the email and name Google returns.
- Your learning. Which courses you enrol in, which lessons you complete, your progress, and any certificates issued to you.
- Your purchases. The course bought, the amount, the currency, and the payment reference returned by our payment processor.
- Basic technical data. Our hosting provider records ordinary web request information such as IP address and browser type, as any web server does.
We never see or store your card number, CVV or PIN. Those are entered on our payment processor's own systems and never reach Kademy.
Why we hold it
- To create and secure your account, and to sign you in.
- To give you the courses you have enrolled in or paid for, and to track your progress and issue certificates.
- To take payment and keep a record of it, which we are also required to do for accounting purposes.
- To send you transactional email: confirmation codes, password resets, and receipts. We do not send marketing email.
Who processes it
We use a small number of established providers. Each only receives what it needs to perform its function.
- Supabase — database and authentication. Holds your account, progress and purchase records.
- Vercel — hosting. Serves the site and keeps standard request logs.
- Paystack — payments. Handles card details directly; returns us only a reference and a result.
- Resend — transactional email delivery. Receives your email address and the message.
- Google — only if you choose Google sign-in, and only to confirm who you are.
Some of these providers operate outside Nigeria, so your data may be stored or processed abroad. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising.
Cookies and browser storage
We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. To keep you signed in, your browser stores a session token locally. Clearing your browser storage signs you out.
How long we keep it
Your account and learning records are kept for as long as your account exists. Payment records are kept for as long as accounting rules require, even if you close your account. Ask us to delete your account and we will remove your personal data except where we are legally required to retain it.
Your rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, and comparable law elsewhere, you can ask us to:
- Give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct anything inaccurate — you can edit your own name from your profile at any time.
- Delete your account and personal data.
- Stop processing your data, where we have no overriding legal reason to continue.
Email kedionwe@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you believe we have mishandled your data, you may complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
Children
Kademy publishes courses intended for children, but accounts must be held by someone aged 18 or over. A parent or guardian should create the account and supervise its use. If we learn that a child has created an account without a parent or guardian, we will remove it.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes affecting how we use your data will also be sent to you by email. Our terms of service cover the rest of the relationship.
